If you fish, North Carolina requires a fishing license to fish from the beach or in the sound. You do not need a license if you charter with a professional Captain. Please see The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission website for full details.

All Marinas in Hatteras book charters sound side, offshore, and deep-sea fishing. Walk-on /make-ups are welcome. You can make a fun half day of fishing and also go clamming on a sandbar, great for kids. Head to the docks from 3:30 – 4:30 to see the catch roll in.
